I have been seeing spots for the past week, i guess they are called floaters. Does anyone know what causes this or how to make it stop?

I asked my doc about floaters last year. His response was simple.
It happens to everyone with age and short of draining out the fluid in the eye there isn't much that can be done. (I would assume that draining of the eye would be a last resort if there was a huge issue and one couldn't see very well because of it)
