Should I go to the doctor because of my sore throat?

I have had a sore throat now for 5 days. After waking up in the morning and taking my hot shower I have a productive cough where I cough up that nasty phlegm... yellowish/grey/green and thick. But as the day goes on that stops and I only have the dry cough which makes my throat hurt worse. I have nasal congestion too. When I walk fast down the hall and around the plant I work in and then back to my desk I am out of breath and start coughing for a few minutes. Is this just a cold that passes or something to be concerned with?

i would definately say you should go to the doctor. if you don't you should at least stay home from work for a few days and rest. I don't know what kind of plant you work at, but it can't be healthy for you to be walking through where there is most likely some kind of stuff in the air for you to breathe in. your body doesn't even have time to try and heal itself when you keep pushing it by going to work. however it does sound like you have an infection of some sort with the green phlem and a cough like that needs to be checked out too. also strep throat can be very serious, you need to be tested for it. please do your body a favor and get checked out today. you won't get any better continuing the way you are.
