What are the best recommended arch supports for medium/high arches?

I have arches of medium height, and my arches often have sharp pains in them, even though I wear Dr. Scholl's arch supports and have tried many other brands on the market. Does anyone know of a brand of arch support that really helps medium to high arches? (I would like to wear pumps somewhat comfortably....but as it is, my arches usually arch over the side of my pumps.)

You need to see a podiatrist. High arches don't necessarily need support. In fact, most arch problems can be remedied by proper exercises and stretches combined with massage of the foot and leg.

Shoes with heels are very, very bad for your feet, ankles, knees, hips, spine, neck, shoulders and TMJ.

The feet are the foundation of support for the whole body and when they are not functioning properly or imbalanced can affect all of the joints on top of them.

Going barefoot as much as possible or wearing slippers or sandals is very good for your feet if they are in good shape. The feet have just as many nerve endings in them as the hands. The nerves are for gathering information about the environment and sending it to the brain.

We wear shoes as much as 60% of our lives only taking them off to shower and sleep sometimes. Imagine covering your hands with something like shoes. You would not get as much sensory information as your bare hands. The muscles of your hands and arms would deteriorate, too from disuse and misuse.

Research suggests that the better our shoes are with support, the worse our feet get. Countries with poor or no shoes have the least foot problems, countries with the "best" shoes have the worst feet.

Your arches are dynamic structures influenced by muscles and other factors and need to be used. Like any part of the body, use it or lose it. They are the bodies natural shock absorbers working much like the leaf springs on a car.

Arch supports are similar to crutches. If you use them unnecessarily your feet and legs will get weaker and your armpits will hurt.
