Ok, most of these people should not have answered. They obviously know NOTHING about migraines and should not offer advice on subjects that they know nothing about.
Amidrine is a prescription medicine with Acetaminophen in it. Mixing it with other pain killers, expecially OTC pain killers, can add to the problem.
Are you under the treatment of a pain specialist or a neurologist? Has any physician diagnosed you with Migraines? If not, you need to get in with a specialist ASAP.
But, first things first, you need to call your current doctor and let them know that the meds are not working. He may be able to call in a more serious painkiller, or may recommend you to go the urgent care for a demerol injection. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING until you speak with your physician. I'd hate for him to tell you to get to urgent care and then have you get there and them not be able to do anything because you dosed up on OTC meds.
If you are under the care of a neurologist or a pain management doctor, they may refer you to a pain clinic where you will get an IV treatment of medicine. This is used to help break up the migraine cycle. You would be perfectly safe to drive home after the treatment and it generally takes a few hours of your day. But, that time can be worth it for many migraine sufferers in the midst of a cycle.
For the time being, you can lie in a dark room, put a cold compress over your eyes, and try to sleep. Some migraine sufferers are helped with a hot cup of coffee (the caffeine) and a benadryl (helps you to sleep and relax).
If you are diagnosed with Migraines, it may also be time to switch your medication. Imitrix, Maxalt, and other triptans can help to abort the migranie, or cut its severity down.
Most of the herbal remedies are prophylactic, not reactive, treatments. Feverfew, Magnesium, CoQ10, and a few other supplements can be tried, with varying success.
Anyway, call your doctor and try to relax. Hopefully they'll be able to help you out of this situation.
